What our customers have to say about us

  • Thanks so much Novus for such great service. We suffered a cracked windscreen in the far north recently. Both your reps in several Northland towns & your serviceman Mata, were efficient, helpful and friendly. Great Job!

    Laine – Northland

  • Thank you very much Gisborne Novus for the proffessional job that was done on her van and the cheap back window you found for her. She was very impressed with the clean up that was done even though it was a mess to clean. Great job guys and I will be recommending your business to everyone who will need their glass fixed!

    Tangi – Gisborne

  • Just had my windscreen replaced by Mata from the Albany Branch, what a nice guy! Great service thanks Novus, he’s done you proud.

    Jodi Parsons – Albany

  • Great customer service at Napier, even squeezed us in for a new windscreen before Christmas! So happy,

    Jesse Amber – Napier

  • Fantastic service from whoa to go!!!

Lovely and very knowledgeable lady on the telephone made the booking a breeze, then Anthony came out this morning, on time, really pleasant, kept me informed as to the progress and well explained end result.

    Great service, highly recommend.

Temperature is not good for a windshield. It may be tempting to pour hot water on your cold windshield to help speed up the defrosting process but do not do this. It will cause the windshield to crack or break.

The extreme temperature difference causes the glass to expand and then ultimately, crack.

Originally, windshields were just made out of normal glass and could easily shatter upon impact. It wasn’t until the early 20th century that the shatterproof laminated glass used in windshields today was invented.

A French chemist by the name of Edouard Benedictus invented shatter-resistant glass. It wasn’t used in automobiles until the 1920s.

In the early days of automobiles, windshields were a luxury. Windshields were an optional and extra feature that could be purchased for cars.

If you could spare the extra money you could purchase a windshield for your vehicle. If not, then goggles and scarves would be your only protection against wind and other elements!
